A big advantage is silent operation without fans and redundant or direct DC power supply.

Switch can be powered with 230V AC input and 2.5mm DC connector with variable power from 16 to 25V with maximum power consumption 56W.

The main difference between UniFi switches and Edge Switches is web management – Edge Switche’s WebGUI management is substituted by UniFi Controller in UniFi Switches.
